Every girl dreams of having the perfect wedding, but not all of us have an unlimited budget to work with. Although you may lust after centerpieces made with rare orchids and a designer dress spotted on the runways of Paris, finding these items on a budget can be tough. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to make your dreams come true without breaking the bank.
According to The Wedding Report, the average wedding in the U.S. costs $28,800 – money that not every young couple has to burn. But you don’t have to be rich to have the perfect nuptials. Sharon Naylor, author of 1,000 Best Wedding Bargains, spoke to KFOX about how to get your dream wedding for a fraction of the cost.
First, Naylor says, couples should pick a budget and stick to it. Setting a final figure – and refusing to go over it – is a great way to see exactly how much you have to spend on various items, like the dress, the invitations, the centerpieces and even the venue.
Resist the temptation to put items on credit cards, too, says Naylor.
“If you can’t afford things, don’t go putting everything on plastic,” she told the news outlet. “It almost never works out that way, and then you’ll be left with massive credit card debts and monthly minimum charges that can stretch you thin, starting off your marriage with money fights.”
