Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.
That’s how Keara, of Keara Lloyd Photography, lives her life. It’s also why she choose, of all the facets of photography, to focus her impressive creative talent on the local wedding community here in Albuquerque. Because, well, isn’t love the greatest adventure of all? Her bold spirit shines through in her photography, and yet there is a familiarity with her subjects that makes it obvious how comfortable she is behind the lens. It’s not the easiest task in the world to catch spontaneity on camera, let alone the kind of spontaneity that comes from real, raw places of love. And yet she makes it look so easy!
So it’s no wonder Ben, a newly-engaged + groom-to-be, asked Keara if she would be willing to capture the surprise proposal he was planning for his now-fiancé, Courtney. The catch? The proposal was to happen during a guided horseback ride through the mountains just northwest of Santa Fe. But what is life, if not a daring adventure? Nothing at all, of course! So Keara Lloyd Photography, camera gear in tow, hopped on the horse.
I played along, and the guide pretended I always came along with him on tours. We totally had Courtney fooled! While riding 3 miles to our end destination, Courtney and Ben chatted while enjoying local beers. When we got to the top of a small mountain, Ben got down and proposed to the love of his life. She was shocked and so excited, and of course, said yes. They enjoyed one more beer together, and then our whole caravan rode back in the dark, with a full moon shining down on us.
Keara, Keara Lloyd Photography
Without brave creatives like Keara Lloyd Photography, beautiful moments like these would pass just as quickly as they arrived. Cementing this life-changing horseback ride in memory, Keara’s keen eye gave these two amazing human beings something to remember this proposal by forever. {And she also gave us some incredible proposal inspo to fawn over too, which is only slightly less important.}
Thank you Keara for being an integral part of the Albuquerque + Santa Fe wedding community, and part of the Perfect Wedding Guide fam. We love ya!
