Well, folks, we’ve done it again.
With a near-winter sun hanging bright in the sky, the last Diamond Dash wedding show of the year commenced without a hitch! There to capture every scintillating moment of connection and conversation was none other than Stephany, of Stephany Taylor Photography.
While we’re always overcome with gratitude for the wedding professionals who come from all across the state to showcase their talent, we have to give a little extra love to Stephany. After all, without her creative eye behind the lens, we wouldn’t be able to relive the fun with you here and now!
So if you were one of the unfortunate few who weren’t able to make it to the Diamond Dash this time around, give Stephany a mental high-five. Thanks to her photographic talent, you can feast your eyes on what you missed while we reminisce.
(And start counting down the days to the first wedding show of 2024!)
When the doors to the Embassy Suites ballroom opened last Sunday, newly engaged couples flooded in clutching $500 dollars in show-only WCNM cash and, of course, cute little bags to stash the many freebies they were to collect.
With wedding photographers, florists, designers, gown-makers, bakers, and more having transformed the space into a one-stop wedding planning dream, the sight was truly something to behold. (Yes, we’ve done a LOT of these wedding shows over the years, and yes, they still make our hearts stir every time.)
And with Brad King, head of the locally beloved entertainment crew King Mobile Music, already bringing unparalleled energy as our emcee, we knew this particular Diamond Dash would be one for the books.
Among the many notably perfect details that are now lodged in our memories for life were the signature cocktails — bubbling and bursting with flavor. Like the Love Potion Martini, crafted with pomegranate and cranberry juice, finished with a kiss of champagne.
Or the Wildflower Bouquet, which ended up being a crowd favorite thanks to its delicate yet edible floral garnish. Picture the taste of it now: a classic gin and club soda, lightly sweetened and freshened up with lemon and orange.
If the cocktails weren’t already easy enough to love, the show’s centerpiece — a jaw-dropping cake from The Cake Boutique — would’ve knocked us flat.
But alas, as always, the baked masterpiece could only be admired for so long. Soon it was time for 5 lucky lovebirds to dive in — yes, literally — and dig for golden treasure.
Or diamond treasure, that is.
While only one fortunate fiancé took home the stunning diamond necklace from Harris Jewelers, there was no need to fret. The other 4 cake-smashers walked away triumphantly, with prizes like a romantic one-night stay at Embassy Suites in hand. And plus, we gave out other prizes and freebies from local wedding businesses every 30 minutes, so pretty much everyone went home with a happier wallet!
Correction: Everyone went home with a happier wallet and wedding planner, thanks to the expertise shared by our wedding professionals all day long.
Not to mention a full belly, a full swag bag, and a less full to-do list.
All together, this Diamond Dash was a win-win-win and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you again, Stephany, for making sure every delightful detail could be remembered for a lifetime. And to our other incredible sponsors — we couldn’t have done it without you.
