Envisioning a photo booth for your wedding? One of our favorite photo booths in New Mexico and the winner of our Best Photo Booth award two years in a row is Little Moon Photo Booth. They’re here to share some tips on incorporating a photo booth into your big day.
Welcoming: Little Moon Photo Booth!
Hi W/C community! I’m Kate, the creator of Little Moon, and this week, I’m coming on the blog to share some planning tips for creating a great photo booth experience on your wedding day. From my experience working with couples and bringing Little Moon to weddings, this is what stands out to me:
1. Timing: Have your photo booth open during cocktail hour & the reception
Having your photo booth open before dinner is a great way to ensure grandparents and kids get a chance to enjoy it since these folks tend to leave early. Open again after dinner gives guests a memorable experience and an alternative to dancing and drinks.
2. Prints: A physical photo strip thrills your guests
Make sure you find a photo booth with unlimited prints. Digital copies are nice but forgettable. When I hand guests their printed photo strip, they’re always surprised and delighted. It’s so novel to have a print! And it becomes a keepsake for them to take home and put on their fridge for years to come.
3. Guest Book: You should get a copy of every photo, too
If you’re making an investment in the photo booth, you should get some of the benefits! Your vendor should print an extra copy of every photo strip for you and put them in a guest book. A guest book filled with photo strips and handwritten notes from your guests is the perfect way to remember the night.
4. Props: Have inclusive and wedding-themed props
Choose a vendor who brings fun and wedding-themed props! Props are especially handy for folks who feel a little camera shy, and they bring out people’s playful sides. If you’re an LGBTQ+ couple, ask your vendor to provide inclusive props, not just ‘bride and groom’ themed.
5. Reviews: Make sure other couples have loved the experience
You’re not just renting a photo booth; you’re also getting a key host for your wedding day. The person running the photo booth does more than just switch the film. They’re chatting with your guests, encouraging shy folks to get in, coaching people through making your guest book, and giving suggestions on poses for the uninitiated. A good photo booth host sets the mood. See our reviews
6. Set-up: Enclosed booths feel cozy and special
There’s just something magical about getting into a small space with friends that can’t be recreated in an open booth. It feels more private and easier to be silly and weird together. If you’ve ever used an open booth, you know what I mean. Find a vendor with an enclosed booth to capture truly candid moments.
That’s it! Photo booths bring so much fun and joy to a party and, when done right, can make a huge impression on your guests. If you’re planning an outdoor or indoor/outdoor reception in New Mexico, Little Moon is the perfect photo booth to anchor the space and create a fun vibe.

FAQs:
- Where can you go?
We’ll go anywhere in New Mexico. We’re based in Albuquerque and distances outside of 50 miles will have a travel fee included. - What do you need to set up?
Just a few things:
A regular outlet to plug into (we’ll bring our own extension cords), a level 15×15 area that can be accessed by a vehicle, and a parking spot for our truck during the event. - What if our venue can’t guarantee access to power?
Let us know ahead of time, we can bring our silent generator and party on. - How big is the photo camper?
She’s 13’ long, 7’ wide, and 8’ tall - Can the photo camper be set up indoors?
Yes — if there’s a way to drive a vehicle inside we can absolutely set it up indoors. Once set up, we’ll unhitch the vehicle and park it outside. - When should I have it open for guests?
It really depends on the design of your reception. We think cocktail hour is a great time to have it open because it gives friends and family something fun to do. It’s also great to have it open after the first dance so people can have options. - When do you set up?
We set up one hour before your start time. Depending on your venue and the design of your reception, you may want us to arrive earlier, just let us know. - How many people fit inside?
Up to 6 fit comfortably, more fit uncomfortably 🙂 - Is it accessible?
Yes, we can modify the setup for any guests who cannot enter the photo camper. We will temporarily set the booth up outside, using the camper as a background. We want all of your guests to feel included. - How much do you need for a deposit, and when is it due?
We take a $350 deposit when you sign your contract to hold your date. The remainder of the balance is due 14 days prior to your event. - What’s your cancellation policy?
If you cancel at any time, you will surrender your deposit. - What if it rains?
If rain is in the forecast for your day, we’ll bring a 10×10 white rain shelter to set up outside the photo camper. - Can you give my venue proof of insurance?
Absolutely. We’re fully insured and licensed.
